CD or download version?BF 1942 is the only game I didn't bother trying to sort out when it failed to run on Win10.If you have not patched the game that would be the best place to begin, even if the patches do not help withlaunching the game.- This, and many old games use SafeDisk copy protection. MS has a problem with this particular DRM and startedblocking the driver used by SafeDisk ( secdrv.sys ) with the launch of Win10. I definitely love windows 10 which is without a doubt faster than prior windows versions unless user's error prevents that. I just can't fathom why anyone would consider downgrading IMO to a restrictive and rather limited Apple OS.Anyhow although I personally prefer not to use deprecated components this Legacy Component, DirectPlay is rather easy to turn on. This feature can be easily turn on / off by going to Control Panel - Turn Windows Features on or off - Check or uncheck box.Just make sure you're not in the middle of a system update.
